Tadjikistan -

Tadjikistan was part of the emirate of Bukhara, which in effect became a protectorate of Russia in 1868. Following the Russian Revolution, 1917, it became part of the Turkestan Soviet Socialist Autonomous Republic in 1918. The Tadjik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was created as part of the Uzbek SSR in 1924 and became a Soviet Socialist Republic in 1929. It declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Reprints of Tibet's first stamp issue, reproduced from rare original sheets carved from a single block of wood, one for each value. The 2/3tr (carmine) value has the famous "Potsage" error in its original setting. .

Prior to 1912 letters were wax sealed. It was following China's issue of the overprints for the Chinese Offices in Tibet in 1911 that Tibet saw the need to issue her own postage stamps a year later in 1912. This act, for future enerations,would be a reminder of Tibet's independent status.

Tonga was visited by the Dutch in the early 17th century and by the British explorer, James Cook, in 1773. The islands became a British protectorate in 1899 under its own monarchy. Chief Taufa'ahau united the islands and declared himself the first monarch of Tonga in 1945. The islands became independent in 1970.

The Kingdom of Tonga is the last Polynesian Kingdom featuring a unique culture, friendly people in an idyllic South Pacific island setting.

The earliest postal communications in Tonga probably began when the ship Duff, of the London Missionary Society, arrived in Tonga in 1797. This expedition failed and it was not until the Wesleyan missionaries arrived in Tonga in 1824 that regular postal communications with the outside world were instituted.

The establishment of an organized postal service in Tonga occurred in 1886. The first issue of Tongan stamps bore a portrait of King George Tupou I.

Trinidad was visited by Christopher Columbus in 1498 and settled by Spain in the 16th century. It was acquired by Britain in 1797. Tobago was captured by the French in 1781 and acquired by Britain in 1802. Tobago became a British colony in 1814. Trinidad and Tobago united as a British Crown Colony in 1899 becoming an independent member of the Commonwealth in 1962 and a republic in 1976.
